Daily cards should have the minimum you need to do each day to keep your home under control. As you can see, the lists on my cards are not long and should be able to be completed pretty quickly. I have a card for the bedrooms, living room and kitchen.
Weekly cards are deeper cleanings that need to be done in each room every week. I assign myself a room each day to keep from getting overwhelmed. For me, Mondays are bathrooms, Tuesdays are bedrooms, Wednesdays are living room, Thursdays are kitchen, Fridays are for the laundry area in my basement, Saturdays are for outside areas such as the front porch or back deck. I also use Saturdays to catch up on things I didn't get done throughout the week. Sundays are for family time and rest. I'd like to pretend that I get it all done each week, but that wouldn't be even close to true. If I miss something one week I make sure to get that done the next week. For example, if I don't get the microwave cleaned this week then I will start with it next week on kitchen day.
Monthly cards are the lists for deep cleaning. Those things that need to be done, but not necessarily every week. I work on them on the assigned cleaning days, a little each week. Hopefully by the end of the month I've completed the whole list.
I arrange my cleaning cards daily with each room grouped together. I find this makes it easier for me to grab the daily cards, weekly and monthly cards for each room. I take all the cards for that room with me as I'm cleaning.
